There was a little bit of weird language use around mental health (I mostly noticed this because the main character calls out fatphobia in the text and then immediately calls another character psychotic) and I wasn't a huge fan of the ending (I get why it went down that way but I wish it had ended like maybe 3 paragraphs earlier) but overall if you like your horror gooey and bizarre, I would recommend this one.
Graphic: Body horror, Deadnaming, Dysphoria, Gore, Injury/Injury detail, and Transphobia
Moderate: Ableism, Alcohol, Confinement, Death, Death of parent, Cancer, Fatphobia, Kidnapping, Medical trauma, Sexual content, Terminal illness, Toxic relationship, Vomit, and Violence
Minor: Cannibalism

Isa, a trans woman hoping to get facial feminization surgery, gives up her funds to pay for the surgery and find an alternative method to achieve what she wants. The results she gets are not…great.
Some parts of this made me genuinely sick to my stomach. It was vile and disgusting. I couldn’t stop reading though.
I loved the first 80%, probably. From there the story got a touch more fantastical than I anticipated or wanted. While it was an interesting route to go down, it definitely wasn’t for me.

Moderate: Dysphoria
