A significant improvement from the last installment. This volume greatly benefits from being one continuous story rather than a connection short adventures. Some bits were truly inspired like the scenes with death and the trolls. However, a not insignificant portion was dedicated parodying Sword and Sorcery stories which is a genre of fantasy I was never really into, so those jokes missed me. All in all a good lighthearted read!

A hilarious parody of common fantasy tropes.

I only had one issue with the book and its related to structuring. Just like with the Colour of Magic, different scenes with different characters are placed right next to each other with no separation and its irritating, but not irritating enough to make me put the book down
