I'll say it was better than the 1st one simply because the writing seemed smoother. Better or not, I am thoroughly enjoying this series. Like the 1st, this book can be read by itself, but will be better read in series. order.

Honestly the names for everything, the way the glossary of people and terms is set up is very confusing,  and the fact that the story is basically repeating itself from book 1 just 17-20 years later with Jenna’s daughter. This book just isn’t for me.
