I enjoyed reading this book and the world the author created, but at times I wished she dug in deeper to certain plot aspects. Some things were skimmed over that could have been expanded on, like the e competition to be Liwei’s companion, or her time training with him. The time jumps made things feel rushed at points, like the author had places to be and things to do. Overall though, I enjoyed this and look forward to eventually continuing the series.
