This was SO SO good. I really love fantasy storylines that take root from mythology. I remember learning about Chang’e in high school and I really thought this was a beautiful expansion on that myth. This is the book I would recommend to diehard romantasy readers who are looking for a next adventure at a far higher quality than the BookTok trending books. My only gripe is the love triangle situation that I feel is entirely unnecessary because there is one correct answer for her.

This book follows a pretty typical fantasy heroes journey format but I greatly enjoyed it nonetheless. The writing was of a high quality, the characters were enjoyable, and the pacing was quick. Definitely recommend on audio.
