Good intro to Marxism and Das Kapital. Not a dense read, the illustrations are fun, and you can get a broad idea of what Marx was examining in Kapital. This is definitely not a replacement for Kapital, but if economics or Marx is intimidating, it's a good start.

Approachable and regularly quotable, this was a great foray into Marx’s notorious behemoth. I’d argue the epilogue added in the 2014 edition, “The Crash and After”, analyzing the multiple, compounding crises of investment capitalism, is worth the price of admission on its own.

While in great need of a glossary and littered with multiple difficultly-dense passages, “Marx’s Capital: Illustrated” is still a useful introduction to some of history’s most influential ideas. I’ll be coming back to this one for sure to better wrap my head around some of the more difficult portions and to quote some of the amazing distillations (especially loved the author’s refutation of Lenin & co.’s, admittedly masterful, co-opting of Marx to justify the same exploitation of people by a different name).
