I really enjoyed this - particularly as I usually believe Dahl's work is overrated.  it was great to read some skilfully crafted short stories which covered a range of themes and genres.  I think I most enjoyed "Henry Sugar" and the final story, which was about Dahl becoming a writer after his WWII experiences.  There is a fabulous "fever dream" sequence.  I especially enjoyed Andrew Scott's narration.

I wouldn't really characterize this as necessarily for children just because it's Dahl!
