I absolutely love these books! I'm so happy to re-read them as an adult. I can't wait to share them with my nieces!

This book does what the others do by tackling an important topic: diabetes.
However, the language used to describe it is problematic to say the least. Labeling it as Stacey being āsickā is a very poor choice of words. Staceyās parents think that going to multiple different doctors means they can ācureā Stacey, which is unrealistic in how a real adult would handle this situation, and it feels like they are acting that way to try and make her story dramatic, which is not good.
I will give Martin props for discussing what diabetes is and what the average person experiences.
The other reason for only fours stars is a comment made of one of the girls about how one of their clients still looked āfatā only days after having a baby. It may be how a child would think in that situation, but it is detrimental to the young audience who will think thatās an appropriate expectation for new mothers. (Hello body shaming!!) It was a throw away line and shouldnāt have been there.

Yeah, yeah. It's the Baby-Sitter's Club. But this time it's adapted into comics by Raina Telgemeier, and really, nostalgia doesn't get any better than this.
Unless you were the type to not read junky series fiction when you were a 10-year-old girl.
