i didn't even know these existed until i came across them while looking for something else at the library. it was a cute way to flash back to the favorite series of my youth. while i don't remember the plot points very well, the storyline is pretty predictable, but there was still enough going on to keep me entertained. liked the art too

I never read Babysitters Club books as a kid (I don't know that I wasn't *allowed* to per se, but the uber girly covers always made me roll my eyes so I never asked if I could), but when my 11yo brought this home from the library, I was pleasantly surprised. She really loves graphic novels, as she struggles to read, and I think we both really enjoyed this story. Looking forward to reading the others we checked out!

KkI didn't give this one five stars because I really didn't like the ending, or the way the parents element was handled. I felt like the behavior of the parents (aka doctor hopping) wasn't really handled well. Yes, it got solved in the end, but I do wish Stacey had said more about how this makes her feel, and had stood up to her parents more.

I do understand that this book was written WAY before certain tragedies, and that things in the time period of this book were WAY different. So I am looking at this through a modern lense, like I do with a lot of these books, and while I love all of the graphic novel adaptions (or at least the ones I've read so far) of the baby sitters club, I do have one criticism, I feel like sometimes the hurtful behavior of the parents isn't properly called out. That's just my opinion though, other than that the series is a wonderful read.
