“I lost you once…and I’ll burn the whole fucking world to the ground before I ever make that mistake again.” - Jace

Dylan and Jace were best friends, they were each others everything, their safe place. When Dylan left town for a few years she left all of that behind.
When she returns to Royal Hearts for her senior year, she thinks it’s her chance to get her best friend back, but the Jace that she sees now is someone she doesn’t recognize and worse he hates her with such a passion.

I really liked this book, it was a quick easy read.
Jace is an epic asshole, everything he does comes from so much pain and trauma and it isn’t until the last 5% of the book that he starts to realize that maybe things aren’t has they seem. As much as he hates Dylan there are moments when he still protects her and takes care her.
Dylan has dealt with a lot but she is such a badass,
spoiler….
I mean the girl beats her cousins ass in the hallway. Chef kiss.

This book deals with a lot of loss and trauma. There are so heavy parts to this book.
read the trigger warnings.

Dylan finds herself back at Royal Hearts Academy five years after she left. She thought she would have one friend there, Jace Covington. Imagine her surprise when she finds that he hates her and doesn't know why. She must deal with him trying to make her life a living hell while getting through her last year of high school.

I didn't know what to expect about this book, but I thought it was so good. Be aware that this is a dark romance, so please check trigger warnings if you need them. If you like angst, this is the perfect book for you. Jace and Dylan had such a strong connection, but Jace was dealing with so much pain and hurt. Jace tried to walk all over Dylan, but she was so strong, standing up to him. Under all the pain and hurt they had, you could see they genuinely cared about each other too.

I also liked getting to know the other characters in the book that will be in future stories. The friends all had unique personalities that I wanted to know more about. I can't wait to pick up the next in this series!

Read if you like: friends to enemies to lovers, hate to love, bully romance

this could've been cutdown a solid 150 pgs like yea bully romance but they were childhood bffs/lovers and then he hated her guts and she had no clue why and reveal was dumb as hell too 😭 yea jace and his family were grieving but idddk dylan being shocked that they hated her guts probably should've opened his eyes.

there's very few bully romances where the fmc fights back and dylan did here but then she'd backtrack immediately.

will always love the whole eldest sibling turning into a parent etc thing so liked jace for that...
