I always love listening to authors reading out their poems as something more gets conveyed than possible with just words. I love the second part 'The Sail' more than the first.

A handful of poems spoke to me and two really resonated. I enjoy this style of modern poetry, but I don't feel like I was in the right mental state for this collection to really impact me.

Beautiful, honest, raw.

I just need to thank this book, that’s all, no more comments

“i change with the tides.
sometimes i am big, fierce,
towering over the sea,
destroying castles,
carving pearls from sand.
sometimes i am small, gentle,
tippling across shorelines,
curling around ankles,
sinking between toes.”

Always though for me to review poetry collection that have no titles as I love to keep a list of my favorite ones. There’s one poem in here that takes place in a bus where the narrator smiles at people and is being ignored so she wishes she were invisible that was pretty phenomenal!

Saw this as a recommendation on TikTok as a poetry book revolving around anxiety, self worth, that kind of stuff. Unfortunately it wasn’t what I was expecting. There were probably only 2-3 poems that I liked/agreed with. It wasn’t necessarily bad, but just what I thought it was.
