Took me long enough to finish this, but that's not a statement on the quality of the book, because the book is GREAT. I love everything this book chooses to be, and I wish for the continued adventures-in-novel-form of Doreen, Tippy, and Ana Sofia.

Squirrel Scouts forever!

A wonderful, enjoyable romp. Perfectly in the spirit of the amazing Squirrel Girl, this second YA novel is a delight. Great story, fantastic characters, and wonderful heart-warming friendship. Love it.

Squirrel Girl relies on a hoodie and big pants to hide her SuperHeroness from her classmates and somehow, like Clark Kent and those glasses, the disguise works. Her adventures with her BHFF and BSFF (Best Human and Best Squirrel Friends Forever), the Squirrel Squad and with the help of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be enjoyed by middle grade readers (not to mention introducing them to the wider S.H.I.E.L.D. universe - funny how being published by the owner of that franchise works).

This is a fast, funny joy of a book. Doreen and Squirrel Girl are some of my favorite characters to spend time with.

Okay so this was amazing and I loved it (FRIENDSHIP! SUSPICIOUS MALLS! INCLUSION! THE UNENDING HORROR OF TALKING TO FRIENDS ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL! SQUIRRELS!) but also I am really sad that no one wants to talk to Winter Soldier and he didn't get to save the day? This was his wheelhouse and he got left out! Buddy!

More wonderfully fun adventures w/ the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.

HYDRA is opening a new shopping mall & Doreen & her friends must stop the townspeople from being killed. Honestly, why can't HYDRA just set goals of reasonable profits through good merchandise and excellent deals?

We entered this series on the second book, and even without having read the first, it was a great read! It was on a library shelf, pre-COVID closure.

It has everything we love -- rodents, teens, super powers, Winter Soldier and Black Widow.

And then, my husband informed me (and he KNOWS how I love rodentia!), it's a comic book series, too!

We laughed and laughed.

Imagine a super hero, Marvel Avengers style, whose super-power is possessing a squirrel's senses, balance, strength and a big bushy tail she has to tuck into her pants.

And a not-so-secret fan society, the Squirrel Scouts, who follow her adventures, showing up to support her and run interference when needed.

What else could be better? Nothing!

In this tale, a funky-smelling minor member of Hydra sets up shop in what is supposed to be the town's new mall, and it's up to Squirrel Girl, her devoted and loyal squirrels, and her fan club to sort out the connection to Hydra and stop the town takeover.

The text messages to / from the other members of the Avengers are precious! We read them, and just them, several times, rolling around laughing. All I'm gonna say is, Captain America rocks! And poor Winter Soldier.

Meanwhile, Doreen Green (Squirrel Girl's other identity) has to roam Union Junior High School and sort out her BFF relationship with Ana Sofia.

THIS is a must-read for your summer!

This was a fun continuation of the series. I love that we got more about Ana Sofia and her family, and that Thor is now friends with them! They call him Tio Thor, which I LOVED, and Ana Sofia's mom makes socks for Ana Sofia and Thor. I really love that Ana Sofia has such a big part in these books, and that her being deaf helps call out ableism! Love love love this series.
