I am unwell. This book… It was an outstanding follow-up to LEGENDBORN. Tracy Deonn is one of the most creative writers and BLOODMARKED is incredible from start to finish. My mind is blown. I cannot wait for the world to read this.

I give this a good 3.5 stars! It was very heavy to legend bound and had a lot going on so I think I’ll need a second read or a recap before I read the 3rd book. Overall I enjoyed it

WHY am I just now learning that this series is going to have 4 books and not 3??? (For context, I try to only start finished series to stay invested)
I am so invested! I love the plot, the worldbuilding, the characters, the magic system. It is all original and refreshing, and I am obsessed with Sel and Bree and Nick and the rest, too. I can’t wait to see where this story goes.

why did I neglect reading this series for so long???

the first book was really good and yet this one was even better. I was literally gasping, laughing, panicking while reading. this one also covered A LOT more ground than the first one. it was fast-paced yet I never felt lost. I also think the themes come across just as strong and powerfully in this one despite how action-packed the book is. Deonn weaves in discussions of the intersections between power and race, racism, identity, and more into the action and world-building itself, but also leaves room for moments such as when Bri talks with her ancestors or arrives at Volition, for directly discussing these themes.

I can't wait to read the 3rd one. I feel like there is still so much left to unravel...

I don’t think this book needed to be 600 pages long. Like sometimes there would be scenes and literally nothing important to the plot would happen. Also how is she just leaving school for the rest of the book like what?! So I mean the story was good not as good as the first one and after reading this I probably won’t read the third one.

three quarters of the book felt like off brand shadowhunters, enjoyed the demons but felt like king arthur and his gang were almost forgotten at some point… and you know, they were kind of the main thing, weren’t they?
but the last bit really did make up for it, i love me an experimental narrator
