AUDIOBOOK REVIEW
the story wasn't bad, I honestly just HATED the narrators, specifically the female one. It sounded like she had a head cold the entire book and was just so nasally and it really pissed me off lmao I decided to continue to read the book instead of DNFing lol if the next book has the same narrators I may have to DNF bc idk if I can put myself through that again

I couldn’t even finish this book. James is such a little p*ssy, it was just a kiss bro move on
DNF @ 64%
i tried really hard with this one, but i genuinely just was not enjoying it personally. i think that others could definitely enjoy this book, but i found myself feeling really bored and constantly checking how much i had left to read because i just wanted to be done. i’m really trying to be better about not forcing myself to finish books that im genuinely not enjoying, so this one is a DNF for me.
i think the potential for this story was great, the blurb sounded interesting, but the execution was really poor in my opinion. i didn’t particularly enjoy either of the characters. bex was a doormat for everyone in her life and that irked me so much and i was so annoyed with her character. james was fine, he was cute and sweet but i really didn’t feel like he was anything special and honestly he was pretty bland. the spice was mediocre at best and the timing for when the spice happened felt off to me. based on the blurb of the book, i expected something similar ish to the deal by elle kennedy and i was severely disappointed. the ‘tutoring’ aspect of the story only takes place in the first 25% ish and then it’s never mentioned anything. i enjoyed the fake dating aspect and i thought it was sweet, but i again just felt like the execution was really poor.
i really wanted to like this story and im honestly pretty disappointed that it fell flat for me, but i simply could not force myself to make it through the last 36% of this cringe fest.

ᝰ.ᐟ ⊹ pre-read: i need something a little different, so here we are!
ᝰ.ᐟ ⊹ my thoughts:
— i feel like this book was very fast-paced; everything just happened so quickly. It was very instalove, while sometimes authors can pull this off; in this case, i don't think it really worked out. Most of the characters were immature and didn’t take the time to think through situations/decisions, and i believe if the author took the time to focus on her characters more and help them grow this book would’ve been more enjoyable!
ᝰ.ᐟ ⊹ characters:
— james: i loved his character in the beginning, but slowly towards the middle and end of the book I realized that he really lacked critical thinking skills. i mean, almost throwing away your entire career for someone isn’t something a sane person would do, or any person for that matter. besides his inability to think through situations, i enjoyed his character sometimes.
— bex: her character really pissed me off; she was acting childish for most of this book. she lacked depth, and the author could’ve taken the time to work on helping her character grow and work through her relationship with her mom and even james without the need to act childish.

This was cute, I’m not the hugest fan of football but this was a pretty cute sports romance! I loved these characters though!
