it was cute for the most part but almost everyone lacked serious critical thinking skills and by the end i was just so annoyed by everyone’s immaturity

I will always drop whatever mood read I’m in for a sports romance and I did that here. I don’t think I read what it’s about but the football romances really just sink themselves into my brain and settle until I read em. Very much enjoyed this. Will be back for more.

I'm not going to say much. It's a good quick read with a plot line that I have read repeatedly in many books over the past few weeks. It's predictable, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. An attractive, athletic guy meets a drop-dead gorgeous girl who is also smart and funny and both are talented in their own passions. They fake date and, surprise surprise, they fall for each other. In the end, they end up happy together after facing a few obstacles. Again, it’s not like we haven’t seen the plotline before, and no need to rewrite something that clearly works. It can be a quick read to help you escape reality.

EDIT - Update:

I've had time to think about this book over and I have now re-read it 2 more times. I love it more and more every time. Of the entire series (so far, as we are still waiting for Wicked Serve to be published), this is my second favorite. I love how James is so sweet with Bex. He's confident without being cocky. He takes care of her, with no lying or manipulation. He is straightforward and speaks his mind. I also love the relationship he has with his brothers. He is the classic older brother, looking out for everyone. He is serious and has a good head on his shoulders and is a leader.
I love Bex because she is confident in herself. She has a plan for her future and, even though it may not be her passion, she is dutiful to her mother. She is also someone who doesn't like games. She hesitates only when plans are not certain but she follows her heart and is loyal to herself.

I also downloaded the Bonus content from Grace's website (I think the special edition version that came out in early 2024 has this content incorporated) and I loved it. It cements my description of James even further and it makes Bex even more relatable. I'm glad we get to see snippets of their relationship throughout the rest of the series but I wouldn't mind a spin-off of just Bex and James.
