I really love Sandor now! Too bad, you know...

Explains a lot about Sandor's and Nine's personalities. Although i have to say, some scenes are too fantastic and perfect to be believable. I like my dystopian novels still a bit more realistic, but i still enjoyed it.

I'd have to grant this a 3.5 star rating. The picture of life on Lorien makes it well worth the read. It gives a feel for the society: its confidence, self assurance, and later the utter despair.

Its interesting to think that the people living with no war and no challenges really did go from strong to weak as they had no challenges placed before them. Further, it could serve as a warning to present societies in a similar situation.

This would be quite good for discussion with elementary or middle school students who were reading these books.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILERS

I think all fans of this series have probably wondered what Lorien was actually like, if it really was perfect. I loved this book, because we find out about the last days before the Mogs came and more about how one Cepan in particular came to be chosen as a Cepan. It was really interesting to learn about him and see that he was not a saint as most of the Cepans are portrayed.
