Steven Vance Taylor does not mince words in this raw and entertaining peek into his life on the road. As he states after the band is booked to go on tour with Stone Temple Pilots; “We were ready for a roller coaster, but what we got was more like a stuck Ferris wheel that someone lit on fire.”
Managers who like haggis, a gnome who likes to talk trash, driving 150 miles the wrong way on the highway to a gig....all this and more will you keep you entertained. Through it all Steven keeps his head above water thanks to the love of his life, Mia.
I really enjoyed how all the difficulties of life on the road did not break the bands spirit. When you are at a concert or listening to music on the radio, you do not really know what has gone on behind the scenes. Musicians do not have an easy life and I have a greater understanding of the passion they have for life and their music after finishing this book.
If you are a fan of VH1’s Behind the Music, but crave more in-depth details, you will enjoy The Uninvited. Thank you to Hurn Publication for an eARC of this book. All reviews are my own

I liked this book a lot! As a big music fan it was very interesting to get a peek behind the scenes, and also to find out about a band I had never heard of before. This book was written in a very engaging way, it was easy to read and I didn't want to put it down.

I am not giving the full five stars because there were a handful of mistakes in the book that made it seem like it wasn't properly edited, and they were enough to really bother me while reading.

Otherwise though, I definitely do recommend this book for any music fan who wants a better look into the workings of the music industry!
