I’ve just finished this book, expecting it to be really similar to the Chestnut Springs series (Elsie Silver) and it kind of is. But I didn’t come away with that nice lovely feeling after reading the CS books.
I found neither of the MC’s had lovable, even interesting personalities and didn’t really care for them when there was conflict.

I liked the resolution/reveal of the suicide mysteries, wasn’t expecting who it was.

Might give book 2 a go and then decide whether I will finish the series.
