What a drama-filled tearjerker of a book! I’ve read the other standalone by these duo of authors (when it’s real) and I have to say that I liked that one much more.
This one was intense and gritty and those parents were off the wall crazy. The book was just so ANGSTY. Major drama everywhere. Drama with Beth’s parents. Drama with her friends. Drama with her teachers. Drama, drama, drama.
I really felt for Chase. There was so much prejudice against him and everyone was really cruel. I thought the book would be more romance centered, but it’s definitely more about the grieving process.
I wanted more from the ending though. It felt a bit flat for me and almost too easy after everything that Chase and Beth went through.

When I first heard about this book, I just knew I had to read it! The plot sounded really intresting, and was something that could be really good if written correctly. And guess what, it was so amazing! I absolutley love this author combo, they've written some of my favourite books.
The story seemed really beliveable, and I was as frustrated as the main character at her parents and friends. It couldn't be easy to live in an eviroment where everything you do have to be perfectly safe and under your parents control.

I liked the premise of this story but I couldn't get behind all the secondary characters. Her parents were beyond flawed and really were abusive. I feel like that was just sort of dismissed entirely. Even her friends weren't supportive. I felt bad for Beth, I'm glad she grew as a character by the end.
This book was beautifully haunting and well handled. My heart was breaking for Beth and her loved ones. Once again the authors writing captivated me and consumed me. I will be thinking of this story for some time to come.
I actually quite liked this book. However, there were some characters that i really hated: Jeff for example.
