If Evangeline didn't feel as childish and naive in the beginning maybe this would have been rated higher. Because of that, it took me a bit to get into this world. I had never read a romantasy this romance focused where even the magic is related to romance, but it got good the more I read.
I sort of, kind of really enjoyed this book. It was almost on my favorites list. And then it ended tbc. I loved the tangled story line.the wondering who the real culprit is. It's a tale spun so well. But I wanted/needed it to end. So, it's my problem not the book's. I'm sure the continuation is going to be grand. I can't wait.
...added another star now that I've got some time distance.

im not saying anything about this book until I finish tbona but it's a 5 stars
talented brilliant incredible amazing show stopping spectacular never the same totally unique completely not ever been done before unafraid to reference or not reference put it in a blender shit on it vomit on it eat it give birth to it
A fine story, but not my cup of tea. Something about the writing and the story felt a little juvenile, like every thought wasn't quite finished before we moved on to the next one. Scenes that could have been great for world building were skipped (what's a fantasy wedding like? 4 were supposed to happen in this book and we don't witness a SINGLE one). It's an interesting world, but it doesn't feel established beyond what the main character sees and engages with.
