This collection includes some of Borges's most famous stories, along with a selection of his nonfiction essays, some short-short "Parables" and one poem. It's a good introduction to the author, except for being unfortunately prone to typos and misprints. The worst example is p. 190, which, instead of the contents it should have, contains a reprint of page 188. We'll have to go elsewhere for the complete philosophical history of the sphere of Pascal.
Borges's best short stories are phenomenal, though, well worth checking out, whether in this collection or another one. Not the kind of stories you can read five or 10 at a gulp. Just one of these can really rearrange your mind. Read one per day as a safe dose. 😁

Moderate: Gun violence and Murder
The stories can be disturbing in the philosophical sense of shaking up your assumptions about the world. Can bother some people.
