i was promised that i would cry, but i didn’t (maybe because of trauma but that’s for another review) but it was very very very well written, especially how each family member clearly had a cause and effect relationship with each other and themselves and it shows how that directly contributes to the actions of the book

Everything I Never Told You is a solid example of a literary family drama. The writing is emotional and vivid. I felt like the characters were a little flat or cliche, which is helped when their feelings are spelled out for the reader, but I still appreciated the story of family dynamics unraveling. I think I would have enjoyed a physical or e-reader version of this book; for some reason I didn't really connect to the audiobook. This would be a good book for fans of books like Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keane and The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett.
