This book has such a great premise. Cat was running away from her con husband when she needed money so has to fill in for her escort friend one night, and met the russian billionaire. I'm not a big fan of instalove/lust but this one was done so good I really enjoyed reading it. Cat has such a strong personality and it's fun to read about her feisty moments with Maxim. The issue I have with this book is a chunk of it is just about sex and I believe the book can do with cutting out half or two thirds of it. The plot doesn't really pick up until the last thirty pages or so.

’He returned wearing broken-in jeans, with an undershirt for me. “Here. Arms up.”
I hopped from the bed, raising them, and he pulled the shirt over me. It swallowed my body. He grinned down at me. “Almost as fetching as you were in that dress.”

they actually had no business being this cute! i tried reading this book a while ago but put it on hold because i wasn’t feeling it, i’m glad i went back and read it now! <3 i’m obsessed with maksim but more so with lucía, i truly loved her character and she deserves the best.

side note: i get that dmitri suffered the most out of his brothers but that doesn’t mean he can’t be happy for them that they moved on from the past… was kinda annoyed how he butchered maksim’s christmas eve and didn’t go to aleks’s wedding. let’s see what he does in his book.

I had a lot more hope for this book. Kresley is a great writer but I really struggle with her character. Her men are too cookie cutter domineering and her women are a lot of mouth and no action. Doormats.

there were several things about this book that i really liked : the main characters and their dynamic together was adorable and so entertaining. i also like the way the the author included both russian and spanish in this book. i was nervous in the first chapter or two with the way spanish was incorporated as it seemed like a white person’s interpretation of spanglish and this did continue to repeat as the story continued, but for the most part, cat/lucia’s use of spanish decently authentic. although, jess’ “hot mami” nickname for cat was very gross and i really didn’t like it. i did like the way the author included direct translations for the spanish phrases right in the text in a way that didn’t feel abrupt and didn’t take you out of the story’s headspace. the main issue i had with this book was the conflict resolutions between cat and maxim. they had some really tense arguments in which some very hurtful things were said and the lack of meaningful resolution after these fights (on both cat and maxim’s side) didn’t sit right with me. overall, this was a very fun read for me and i loved getting to know these characters <3

Maksim is the hottest and sexiest MC I have ever read! This man exudes sex. Then you pair this hot Russian with a sexy and spicy Latina? I loved everything about this book. Their banter, their chemistry, their SEX. This book is perfection and there is nothing I would change about it. Oh, and the plot is good too. :) My favorite part was when Cat would speak Spanish and cooked for him on Christmas and I would melt every time Maksim was affectionate with Cat.

From the three books in the series this one is my favorite. The entire series is great but this one is just crème de la crème. I have already read it like 5 times since it released.
