I wasn't particularly impressed, but I get the appeal. A fun enough romp for boys who like weird lunchroom humor mixed with a James Bond-style adventure. Could stand to have some better writing to take things up a notch, but the reluctant readers that I feel this book is geared for might not care as much as I did.

One might be a little biased to the success of Jarrett J. Krosoczka's "Lunch Lady", due to that one grew up with "Captain Underpants". One cannot deny, however, that this series is witty, clever, and a great addition to a child's library (school, public, or personal).

What makes Lunch Lady fun are the cafeteria related puns that are heavily dashed throughout the pages. We have all wondered what secret lives our teachers have outside of the classroom or school, and Mr. Krosoczka's take is the one we all hope for (that and Dee's suggestion of having 100 cats)!

I am looking forward to completing the rest of the series, and watching the Lunch Lady serve more than just her famous French toast sticks and fish stick nunchucks. She will serve a large dollop of justice!

I only decided to give this a try because my mother in law looks exactly like the main character here and is in fact a lunch lady. Haha will have to ask her if her job is actually this exciting. LOL But seriously this was a really quick and fun read, will be reading the next one. The pun lines are sometimes too much, but they are funny and I bet kids enjoy this book a lot.

This was very funny. It is very relatable for kids who probably wonder what their teachers or lunch ladies do outside of school. It is a good one for those kids who are working to read longer books but still enjoy the pictures.

I can't believe I hadn't read this one. Whew! I have corrected that oversight. Great start to the Lunch Lady series.
