This was funny and cute. What DOES the lunch lady do when nobody is looking?? :D And all "her tools of the trade" are fantastic, including the sidekick and secret lair adjacent to the school kitchen.

Lunch Lady, book 1.
For fans of Captain Underpants who suspect that their school lunch lady just might be a secret superhero.

I like that you just drop right in to the story without any explanation. It makes it easy to accept the premise and just roll with it. Of course, the Lunch Lady is a super hero! It's clever and fun.

So this was one of the cutest books I have ever read. It was for my ENG 204 class this past semester. A majority of my classmates did not like the book, but I enjoyed it very much. I am not normally a comic person, but it meant a lot to my ENG professor, so I went into it with an open mind and ended up loving it!

How the alliances began between the Lunch Ladies and the kids who are in on their crime-fighting secrets. Silly and fun.

Absolute hilarity ensues when a group of kids known as "the Breakfast Bunch" start speculating about the after-school life of the lunch lady. Naturally, the kids assume she is a crazy cat lady, but when they follow her one day after school, they find her fighting the new substitute teacher, a cyborg in disguise! Jokes about school lunches dubbing for weapons, abundances of gravy and food euphemisms abound. I'm excited to read more of this series!
