I took a chance on this small collection (and have three other collections that followed) to support a small publishing venture and I am glad I did. The essays here are interesting and different.

I picked up all four volumes of Frequencies from Two Dollar Radio (hey, they were only $5 each), curious to see what these "artful essays" were all about.
This first volume is a bit of a mixed bag. I enjoyed the excerpt from [b:Crapalachia: A Biography of a Place|13591921|Crapalachia A Biography of a Place|Scott McClanahan|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1340077485s/13591921.jpg|19180004], and the final short story about groupies stayed with me and affected me more than I anticipated. Wasn't super into the exploration of the origins of "open sesame" as a phrase or the ultra-pretentious interview with Anne Carson.
I'm intrigued to see what the next three volumes are like! I know there's an essay by [a:Roxane Gay|3360355|Roxane Gay|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1407278304p2/3360355.jpg] and a fake interview with Shia LaBeouf, and I'm here for it.
