I loved this book.
I really enjoyed how the book teased Pyle's secret and gave us such an explosive reveal. I like tragic endings that give me lots to think about, and though I felt bad for Pyle, my mind did a 180 on him.
I found it interesting how Greene's representation of Pyle's naive idealism is actually reflected in the later Vietnam, how it's disastrous both for America and for Pyle.

I liked the discussion of masculinity and sexuality, as well as post-colonial commentary and feminism and the politics.
