Re-read 2021: Ohhhh, this was just full of everything! The continuation of the previous story in the previous volume (bleh pervert that preys on girls who cannot scream/call for help), Kasahara is awkward around Dojo because of her feelings + she knows he is the prince (which had me laughing though I also wish those two would be more honest so they can be in a relationship or at least try something), there is promotion (though hilariously close-ups have her with 2 Vs but further away and it is just one, plus I just loved what she did for her skill test), and there is plenty more! I really had fun reading this one and I enjoyed it all.

If you're a shojo fan and you're not reading Library Wars, one of the star titles of the Shojo Beat imprint, then you are missing out on one heck of a series. Nine volumes in and it's still the mixture of action and drama that has kept readers glued to the page, as well as the unresolved romantic tension that keeps shippers writing thousand word ship manifestos on Livejournal.

"'Strength in a time of crisis.’”

This is just so good!

The first chapter concludes where the last one ended, with the pervert and the Marie storyline. Then we move onto a big one, where Iku and Tezuka and Shibazaki are taking the exams to move up to Sergeants. Shibazaki isn’t worried at all, Iku’s worried about the written exam, and Tezuka is worried about the skill test. This extends for a while; Tezuka trains a little with Shibazaki, and it’s becoming very apparent that they like each other. Iku trains a little with Dojo, but is constantly freaking out about him.

Now that she knows, and she’s realizing her feelings for him, she’s starting to notice so many things about him, and so many things that he does for her. And it’s just so sweet! And adorable! And hilarious! And awwwww! Her feelings are so apparent, I understand her so well during this. Komaki is sympathizing with her, trying to help, but also finds all of it just hilarious. And no one else knows that she knows, or they don’t know themselves, so they just think she’s going crazy, particularly Dojo. It’s just hilarious.

That whole storyline is making me so very happy, and the grinning just never ceases.

The last chapter in this volume has to do with a big censorship case, with a cliffhanger going into the next volume. It delves into parts of the MBC that I didn’t know before, and that really bothers me now. I like where it’s going.

I just freakin’ love this series. It’s so good. And I only have one more volume till I’m all caught up, sadly.

Initial thoughts: another cute installment in this series a little lighter in content compared to previous books and some of the flash backs were a little confusing, but I just love the characters!

As someone who works in libraries, their kids program arc was everything! It was so realistic and it warmed my heart!! Also the pure ridiculousness that poor Iku is going through now that she has realized her feelings is just a ride in itself!!!
