Part two did not disappoint! Watching Cole and Oakley endure their separation and the trial was truly engrossing. So glad I downloaded this book!

I loved the first book of the series, this one was okay. The trial was interesting and there were cute moments between Oakley and Cole but it was just eh.

Sequels tend to disappoint but this one did not! it added nuances to book one and the character development was realistic and beautifully done.

First line: "Everyone says that getting over somebody 'just takes time' and that one day it will stop hurting and the door will open for you to move on."

LOVE this book. Like the first there are so many ups and downs but definitely less mystery. I really enjoyed the plot of this book. It was a very emotionally moving novel, bringing tears of sadness and tears of joy to my eyes in many places. There was one place where I literally had my jaw hanging open wondering how this could possibly be happening!

All in all, a great read. I would like to hear that there would be another novel continuing the story of Oakley and Cole, but at the same time I'm not sure what it would be about.

My one major complaint of both novels is that many of the places that I would have liked to have had elaborated on, like events that occurred, were skipped over to focus to a much greater extent on the romantic gestures exchanged between the characters. I found it frustrating too many times to count, but nevertheless, still enjoyed these two novels.

I read the first book many years ago when I bought it for free on Apple Books. A lot of time passed before I got around to reading the sequel. Is it good literature? No. The writing it juvenile, there's spelling errors, and the entire novel reads like a bad Wattpad. That being said, did I finish it in a day? Absolutely. There is something about Cole and Oakley's story that has me intrigued in this story. Even though this book focuses more on the trial than their romance, I found myself giggling at the screen when they finally got back together.

On a more serious note, this book covers a very heavy topic of sexual abuse. Natasha Preston writes from such a poignant viewpoint that you have to wonder if she's experienced something similar. I felt like the trial and court proceedings were very rushed, but I was ultimately cheering when the verdict was finally announced. Oakley's story doesn't end with her abusers. The book also covers important themes of family, forgiveness, and using what you have been through to pour into others. Although I enjoyed it, I can't give it more than 3 stars because of what I mentioned in the first paragraph.

Love love this book. I love Oakley & Cole so much as a couple. I felt the end was a bit rushed and wanted more!!! I hope we hear a lot more from Oakley and Cole in Jasper's story which I cannot wait for!

didn't enjoy as much as the first book. I think prob because more details were given on the abuse that she went through as a child.but it was still a great book!

This novel follows on from the first. It's a fairly fun read, though I would've liked to have seen less frivolity and more in depth exploration of Oakley's feelings about what has been happening and too little of the book covered the trial. It is a good concept, but a bit of a deeper story would have made it better.

I loved this book as much as the first book. Glad we got a closure along with everyone else in the book. We get to see 4 year gap between the first and second book. The ending of the last book lefts us all with that cliffhanger and I was so excited I didn't have to wait to read this book. I love this book as much as I love the first. I want more Cole and Oakley books.
