There's just something about the March family that makes me want to read a 600+ page book detailing their whole lives and forget all about my own life. Specifically, Jo and Beth. The relationships formed in this book are mesmerizing and I absolutely adore the scene when Laurence gives Beth a bran new piano. Their friendship is one of the best things in the whole book. I love how low stakes everything seems. There's no interdimensional monster threatening the world, there's no superhero's, or there's no spaceships, there's just a family living their lives as best they can. It's just so wholesome and perfect. While I prefer part 1 of the book to part 2 I love the book as a whole. I've never read anything like this and I fully understand why this book is considered a classic and has been around for generations. I felt almost like Laurie, a friend of the family becoming integrated into their little circle of love, happiness, hope, and warmth. These characters felt like real people and that meant everything to me.

Just four girls navigating the little moments of growing up, but somehow, I couldn’t put it down.
This book is cozy, charming, and full of warmth. It’s simple yet utterly delightful.
But the ending was the biggest flaw of this book (I strongly disapprove!).
