OCD is expressed in a variety of ways before the term is even brought up. The twenty-sided die is really interesting but there's an extended metaphor with a negative thoughts dragon that I love. Maggie's story feels very real and manages to be uplifting despite her difficulties.

I thought this was super cute and handled the mental health topic very well.

I really dug this cute graphic! Seamlessly puts together finding new friends, family expectations (and imagined expectations), mental health, and Dungeons & Dragons (which is a tall order)!

This is another Blue Hen Nomination. A very interesting take on OCD and anxiety disorders and I really found it very insightful and easy to understand. Using the D20, Maggie make decisions in her life, even when they steer her toward things she might not want to do (like not going to bed even when she is tired). She has other rituals as well that her family picks up on. I love how her family and friends helped her cope with the fear that comes with her anxiety/OCD and even help her realize that therapy will help her handle the feelings so she doesn't have to be afraid anymore. Her story was fantastic and I really enjoyed it. I certainly recommend this book.

This stunning middle grade graphic novel deals beautifully with how to explain OCD to all different ages. The art is beautiful and right from the start anyone with OCD, or who loves someone with OCD, will recognise traits in the actions and thought patterns of the amazing Maggie, who is dealing with the difficulties of growing up alongside undiagnosed OCD fighting against her family as she doesn’t want to attend the therapy they are gently suggesting.
However a new school, new friends, and new insights into the possibility that she could learn to live with the dragon living in her head all help Maggie come to terms with the need for a little outside help from time to time.

Great story about coping with OCD, normalizing LGBTQIA+ relationships, and showing a fantastic diversity in characters.

Loved the art and the storyline and how Maggie learned about herself and came to terms with her OCD. I was so proud of her for getting the help she needed! Great graphic for D&D fans too!
