I really enjoyed this story. Andy being in love with Falcon, then realizing that he was actually falling for Law was quite the story.

I didn't really buy how quickly Law and Andy seemed to declare each other "best friends" considering they'd only really known each other for a few months at the time, but I did enjoy seeing how Law helped Andy overcome personal issues around self confidence and a fear of public speaking.

Andy helping Law with his team was a nice way to get them to talk, and having Law help him with his crush on Falcon was believable enough for be to buy as the reason they kept spending time with each other. Though Andy completely missing the fact that he was starting to fall for Law was a little much for me. I mean he even kept on saying how much he enjoyed spending time with him. I guess I can chalk that up to being dense and blinded by his earlier conviction of liking Falcon.

I'm also really happy that Falcon didn't end up being an asshole or reciprocating Andy's crush. There were a few moments there where I was scared that Falcon was actually just an awful friend (the time when he talked about the guy who hit on him in the bar) or that he was jealous of Law (he wanted to spend more time with Andy). I was relieved when they finally kissed and Falcon was very gracious about emphasizing he saw Andy as a brother. I kinda wish we saw him in the epilogue, especially given how big a role Andy's infatuation with him played in getting him and Law together.

Cute story, good amount of fun scenes together, funny dialogue on both characters.

I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down. It was such a sweet and funny romance that was beautifully written. It was so well developed, I was surprised to learn this is the author's first book. I will definitely be looking for more from her!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily gave my honest review.

This is a really good mix of character depth and low angst. The comedy reminds me of N R Walker's writing. This is playful and wholesome.

A lovely short story but I wish there was a few more chapters to round of the story.

I kinda felt like Andy’s story got rounded off quite well but I wish Law had those few extra chapters so we could finally see him talk to his parents about his desire to be a coach and how they responded rather than that time jump of seeing the end result.

Other than a few minor flaws this book was well written with little conflict.

Project Hero
By: Briar Prescott
Narrated by: Kirt Graves, Joel Leslie
Length: 7 hrs and 23 mins
Unabridged Audiobook
Release date: 09-13-22
Publisher: Tantor Audio

Project Hero is the first book I have read by Briar Prescott. It was a sweet, low-angst story. Andy is a lovable, cuddly geek. His brilliant and loyal to a fault to his best friend Falcon. Falcon sees Andy as his little brother. Andy has decided to use the summer to remake himself into someone Falcon would consider adult and want to date. Law has stepped back from playing hockey, his dream, due to health issues. He is not off the ice though. He is coaching and planning a career as a coach instead of a player. Law has the summer to get his freshmen players to pass chemistry or they will be cut from the team and lose their scholarships.

When they first meet, Andy does not like Law because Falcon has a grudge against Law. From the first Law finds Andy adorable. As they work together, they become friends. Andy helps Law tutor his freshmen and Law helps Andy with his project to be Falcon's hero. The story has a happy ending for everyone. It was a relaxing, fun story.

When I was offered a chance to review the book by Tantor Audio, I jumped on it. Two of my favorite narrators, Kirt Graves and Joel Leslie. Andy is adorable on the page and Joel Leslie brings that to life with his narration. His uncertainty about how to capture Falcon's attention. Law is lovely and lets Andy be Andy. If only he could convince Andy that he is prefect as he is. Both narrators do a fantastic job.

Tantor Audio gave me a copy of Project Hero. I wrote an honest review after listening to it (several times).

Needed like 2 more chapters at the end of the book
