I have fallen madly in love with this book. What a delightful read. I adored Law and Andy’s story and will absolutely be looking out for more by this author!!

4.5 stars!

I was not expecting to adore this, but I very much did. This is my first read of this author and it was a win for me.

Andy sees himself as the sidekick. His best friend, Falcon, is an athlete, is good looking, popular, and Andy think he's in love with him, except Falcon doesn't seem to see him that way at all. So Andy has a plan to somehow transform himself into a "hero" so he can be seen in a romantic way by Falcon.

Because Andy has always been a bit of a nerd, small and skinny, and thinks he's not terribly attractive, just average, and his hair is a wild nest on his head and he thinks he needs to improve his look and himself to get Falcon.

Only at the very end of his junior year and the start of summer, Andy meets Law Anderson, former hockey star and now assistant coach, who is attractive and athletic and also asks Andy for help.

But Andy has great anxiety over speaking in front of people, so when Law asks him to help tutor 7 guys on his hockey team in physics so they can pass and stay on the team, he says no at first. But Law helps him, and also offers to help him improve to get Falcon.

Except pretty soon after "project hero" starts, these two start to fall for each other. And they were wonderful together. Law saw nothing wrong with Andy from the start, he loved who he was and Andy was more open and comfortable with Law than he was with anyone else. They didn't want it to become anything, but of course, it did. They fell for each other so easily, but thought the other wouldn't want them to fall, so they kept it to themselves for awhile.

But it all works out in the end, and the epilogue was wonderful and the perfect HEA. Seeing where these two were versus where they started out was wonderful, and it was the love they had for each other that got them there.

Definitely recommend, I adored this. Two massive thumbs up from me! <3

Cute!

Andy and Law were adorable! This was a really cute read! It was super low angst and such a feel good story. I highly recommend it.

3.5 stars. The first half felt a bit like a NA novel I'd read many times before, but things really picked up in the second half and I ended up rooting for Andy and Law. I also loved the way Andy came into his own along the way. I was afraid Briar was going the villain route with Falcon, but luckily that didn't happen and Andy's crush on him was resolved in a believable way. I liked this book and adored [b:The Happy List|55526471|The Happy List (Better With You, #1)|Briar Prescott|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1601550312l/55526471._SY75_.jpg|86589491], so I'll definitely look out for more of Briar Prescott's books in the future.

I received an advance review copy for free, and am leaving an honest review voluntarily in exchange.

Project Hero wasn't what I was expecting. It was light-hearted, silly, fun, just an enjoyable read. It's not a book that's going to win any awards, but it's not trying to be one. The book was adorable and heartwarming, with reminders that being yourself is the most important way to be. Fair warning to anyone who picks this up - there's quite a few steamy scenes, which caught me way off guard.
A little bit about it:
Andy is your typical nerd. He thinks that he's normal in every single way. He's a physics major who wants to go to MIT. Andy is smart, verbose, and funny. He wishes that he were more interesting.
Law is your typical washed out athlete. After having heart problems, he resigns from playing hockey and starts coaching, much to his parents' disappointment. He thinks that Andy is amazing.
Andy and Law should not get along. But, as the saying goes, opposites attract, and the pair find themselves intertwined as they both work to help Law's hockey team from failing a college class.

All in all, the story is predictable, but that doesn't make it less fun. Don't expect something life changing, and just enjoy the ride!
