This is a clever story with two great characters. The humor is well done as is the character development. It's low angst and sweet, but the humor keeps it from being too twee. Recommended to put a smile on your face when you need something light.

I loved this story! Briar has written a wonderfully funny romantic story and the intro is hilarious - the woes of all sidekicks of the heroes.
Law and Andy are really quite different characters and they work so well together. Their interactions are fun, real and so easy to enjoy. Law requires Andy's help to tutor his hockey team and a deal is struck when Andy's plan to improve himself over the summer to move from sidekick status to hero is discovered and Law offers his assistance.
Considering how the two meet and what different lives they led before, Law and Andy instantly feel comfortable with each other, which is normally especially hard for Andy, it does take long for a real friendship to quickly build. Feelings were never supposed to be a part of the deal but you can't deny it when the right person comes along. Law is brilliant in the way he accepts Andy just the way he is right from the start, enjoys his company and looks without him needing to change. Their chemistry slowly builds throughout the story, as a slow burn does, and I found myself really rooting for them as a couple. Once they come together, their sexual tension explodes into a hot connection.
Falcon, Andy's best friend and his reason for wanting his transformation, doesn't come across as the best of friends. Occasionally he irks with the way he acts towards Andy or thinks he's doing his best on his behalf and comes across as a little heavy handed. Redeems himself for me towards the end though.
This is my first story from Briar Prescott but definitely not my last. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the relationship that builds between Andy and Law, highly recommend!
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Rounded up because it’s hockey adjacent and friends to lovers.
I liked Law and Andy, and I loved the prologue with Andy as a hot professor and Law as a rising hockey coach. Their story was sweet and they made a good pair. The dorkiness of all 3 main characters was lovely and funny. Who names their kid Falcon, though?

Project Hero is a really sweet story, and a perfect comfort-read. It took me some time to get into it, because I’m not a fan of the ‘pining for the wrong guy’ trope, but Andy was so freaking adorable and nerdy that I just had to keep reading. And then it got so much better! Andy and Law had great chemistry. They made such a lovely couple, and their banter was hilarious. A very enjoyable read despite all the clichés.
