holy shit. holy shit???? i ate this book up. i came into this knowing all the bad reviews people gave or the warning signs as well, so i was very open-minded to everything the book was gonna throw my way but i am so shocked right now. i loved this book (probably would have hated it if i went into this as my normal romantic self).

this is the type of book where you don’t come into it imagining scenarios as yours, but just bask in the characters’ scenarios themselves. beej and magnolia are literally perfect for each other because they’re just toxic that way i swear. i loved each of the characters because they were all flawed. they had their imperfections and i can see other people my age or older going through what they went through—probably not the exact same situation—but something like it. the co-dependencies, the need for therapy (ehem) and a lot more.

what surprised me the most is how i cried at the 90% of it like i full on sobbed because of the inner dialogue beej had in that explanation part. it hurt me so bad like i was magnolia herself. i cried so so so hard i could not even annotate anymore. just full on sobbed and snot dripping from my nose. i love angst okay so this is definitely something i’ll continue reading in the future i can’t wait to read the rest.

4.5 stars!

everyone needs serious therapy and I also I hate everyone except tom and also why did I inhale this book oh I know because it’s basically a cw drama in book form

I’m still processing this book and what I should even rate it? Did I like any character? No, not at all. They are all impossibly annoying and toxic. I somehow spoiled the ending so the last 10 pages were not as surprising….BJ may have been one of the worst love interests I have ever read…like there is not one good quality about him….Magnolia some how is just as infuriating? This is not gossip girl, this is Vanderpump Rules. I don’t want to continue reading at all, but annoyingly I need to find out the ending. It’s like a bad reality tv show you play in the background just to see what the end is…I would not reccomend this book to anybody.
Also the writing in this book was absolutely horrendous…the love that was somehow built up, was not at all written correctly.
