3.5 stars. This story of Richard's first experience in battle is a good introduction for young potential Ricardians. It introduces some of the main players in the Wars of the Roses--Richard himself (with mention of his brother, King Edward IV), the Earl of Warwick and his daughter Anne, and Francis Lovell. There is also an afterword, briefly filling in Richard's real-life story. A few too many exclamation points for my taste, but still, it's always nice to see a pro-Richard book, especially for young readers.
