So if you skip the second story, it's like a 2.5 from me, but our protagonist sleeping with a drugged child (for presumably comedic effect?? He was arrested but like, not very contrite? What's happening?) sort of soiled the whole thing a tad.

2.5 is still pretty bad, I had a "yikes" counter going. I read this for a "read a book from the year you were born" challenge and now I just feel REALLY OLD.
