Johanna Lindsey does it again! loved the story of Anthony and his love. I loved that he was determined to have her recognize her error in blindly distrusting him. he did it without malice and without force. I was really taken by how passionately he loved her in spite of her resistance.

A fun, low stakes palette cleanser between fantasy reads. This is the second Johanna Lindsey romance I've read, and I'm realizing that these 'grocery store novels' that have such a trashy reputation are in fact way less scandalous than many of the romances written today. I enjoyed feeling like I stepped back into Regency England and watching how romances might have unfolded in a time and place that's far removed from the one we live in today.
Scottish heiress Roslynn and Anthony Malory are smitten for each other, but enter into a marriage of convenience only to ensure that Roslynn's creepy cousin doesn't take her for a bride to win her large estate. Roslynn's so convinced that playboy Anthony won't be a faithful husband that she does her best to keep him at arm's length and convince herself she's not in love with him, only so she won't have her heart broken. Roslynn even insists Anthony keep his mistresses, which infuriates him, because she's the one woman he's ever wanted to be faithful to. They end up gridlocked hate-loving each other for a good portion of the book, and to be honest, the back-and-forth miscommunication/false presumption/stubborn refusal to be reasonable between the two did get a little tired as the book went on. But it wasn't enough to keep me picking up my Kindle whenever I could to sink back into the story, and of course they both came to see reason and admitted they were madly in love with each other, giving me the HEA I wanted.
