This was very cute and nicely written. In foodie world, this is what would be called an amuse-bouche -- a single bite that is offered before the real meal begins. In essence this a 'start of a romance' because it is tells the story of how Penelope and Ryan, who have flirted with each other for months, finally decide to go beyond the flirting. I think this story had real potential to be interesting given the time and room to grow. It would have been interesting to see this as a full length. As it is, it is just a look at Penny and Ryan starting something. We have to assume that they actually finish it happily.
