I had high expections, but they weren't fullfilled and I struggled to finish the book. Couldn't connect with Erin and her insecurities...

I really wanted to like this book but after a point, I just couldn’t. Though I could understand her need to be there for her family and ignore the problems, I couldn’t get why she was so insecure that she wanted to be with the guy who was clearly so wrong for her and made her unhappy. Also, there is a whole lot of no or miscommunication going around in this book which is the reason for all the angst and I didn’t enjoy that. The only parts of the book that seemed okay to me were the chapters of Brendan’s past. And the only characters I liked are probably Olivia and Will though they hardly have any page time. Totally forgettable read for me.

It's not often I keep thinking about a book I won't read again.... but this one made me angry and I keep thinking back to how the story unfolded. I finished it, although I was so so unhappy and upset with the h's character! She was one of those women who think they need a man to be complete. She should have tried to find out who she was and what she wanted from life ON HER OWN! She was a pushover, a doormat without selfdignity, who let the men in her life treet her how they wanted, even the H. In the end I disliked not only the h but even the H, because I think he took advantage of her, was too full of his own jelousy and doubts to really care for her. They didn't have a healthy relationship neither as friends nor afterwards as more than friends.
I give 2 stars because the writing was captivating, but the drama was too much to take.
