This book was just okay. I liked it but didn’t love it as much as her other books. It was not very memorable after I read it.

Pretty good! Just okay! Not bad!…3.75. Wish there was more plot here, I guess? To be honest, Brenden is a jerk and it’s hard to justify his actions sometimes. And as much as we love a touch her and I’ll kill you vibe, ya gotta give me some love back bro. Still good, but deffo no Waking Olivia

4 stars.

While this did not have exactly the same charm as Waking Olivia, it told a very relatable tale of realising your worth in a relationship. Both for the hero and the heroine.

This book was an emotional roller coaster that had me gasping and crying and laughing and getting angry at. I’ll be a mess for a few more days.

You fell in love with Brendan in Waking Olivia. This is his story. While at times I was cringing (I don't like cheating), some parts were very hard to read for me. There is a lot of character depth to both Erin and Brendan. You also get a bit of Will and Olivia (while you don't need to read Waking Olivia I highly recommend it, it's an amazing story).

Erin has so many things going on you can see why she'd drowning. Then you have poor Brendan all up in his head trying so hard to not get what he most desires. He feels he doesn't deserve it.

2.5 stars
Not the worst thing I’ve ever read, but I’m glad that this is finally over <3
Waking Olivia was so good, but this was just 320 pages of toxic obsession, unnecessary back and forth and ridiculous side characters.

I thought this was just OK. The past /present chapters were preventing me from completing enjoying the story. And I honestly thought Brandon wasn't the same person as he was in Waking Olivia. I also thought Erin wasn't likeable enough. I'll still read Elizabeth's work, a new to me author this year a d she's such a hidden gem!

3.5-4*

The tension built within this book is palpable. EO’R just knows how to spin a plot in such a way that you don’t notice the water around you getting warm until you’re nearly fully poached.

While I normally hate the “I pretend to hate you because I have the feels” trope, this is done on different levels with both Erin and Brendan - each have their hangups and their history that causes them pause for vastly different reasons, both have times they break their control and have to backpedal instead of using their words, and it creates this delicious push/pull slow burn environment that has you shouting “JUST OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND MAKE WORDS COME OUT”.

I’ve also been known to be annoyed at characters like this but who among us wasn’t a lunatic in their 20’s?

Julia of @entirelybonkerz (IG) keeps recommending EO’R as a fantastic author and I’ll be damned if she can’t miss with that reco.

This book in the series was even more enjoyable than the first. I found myself staying in my car listening to the audio far longer than necessary becaise there was never a good place to pause for the next commute. I was invested in Brendan and Erin's story. There were so many times I wanted to throttle one or both of them, but in the end the story went the way it was supposed to. I loved it.
