I’m a little frustrated with this book. The plot was good, but the pace was agonizingly slow. I would cringe at Isa’s continuous and total disregard for her daughter’s safety and her relationship with Owen was unbelievably shallow. I won’t go on, but will leave this as 2 star review. I like Ruth Ware, but this one was not for me.

A somewhat anti-climatic thriller overlayed by what’s so clearly postpartum anxiety.

Every novel by Ruth Ware is an absolute gem! The Lying Game is one that always has me on my toes, listening to the audiobook eagerly. I’m along for the ride as the story unfolds with such a twisty plot, it’s like I’m on a roller coaster! I love the detailed scenery Ruth Ware creates to make her dark and sinister tale come to life! This book is so good!

I don’t know what would have made this a 5 star read because I loved it, but it just didn’t quite make it to 5 stars. The story was extremely compelling - it kept me guessing and completely enthralled. The characters were likeable despite being deeply flawed. I wish I could read it again for the first time - it was that good.

This book was stupid. And in the end, the juice was DEFINITELY not worth the squeeze. Isa was extremely unlikeable. I regret staying up late to finish this.
