Loved it!! Really good and really moving. It’s inspirational for others that could have been experiencing similar things to what Quinn was experiencing. 🫶🏻

A beautifully written book, with a sad but hopeful ending. The emotions it explores are raw and complex, done beautifully through first-person and written letters. Thankyou to Colleen for tackling such a hard, but real life issues in such a hopeful light, without cheapening or down playing it.

I'm not going to lie the first half of this book I didn't really gravitate towards. It wasn't bad or anything. It was an easy read. It's just in the first half it felt like there was more sex than substance. It wasn't until I got to the second half (page 153ish maybe). It was the chapter where
Graham cheats on Quinn is when I got invested. And for me it just got better from there.
That's when I started to see more substance in their relationship that was contained from both the "then" and "now" perspectives. Their was relationship was finally showing some depth to me and I could see why they feel in love with one another. But what really sold me was
the letters that Graham had written to Quinn. All this time I wanted to here Graham's perspective in all this and I'm so happy I got to have it.
The ending was very satisfying to me and I feel like it tied the story up nicely. Now I still really can't get passed the stuff in the first half. Graham was a little iffy for me and I felt like he was coming on too strong. And I didn't think Quinn was all there either. I didn't really feel her love for Graham. Personally I'm not one for smut/spice and that was basically what the first half of the book consists of. Even though I couldn't be passed some of the weird stuff that happened in the beginning
they had sex with an expired condom. Like come on, how horny can you be?!
I did think this book was a nice read. If this whole book was like the second half it might've been a 5 star read for me.

I would give this book a 5✨ If it wasn’t for the
cheating trope
THATS the one thing that made me feel upset. Colleen Hoover Is a master at playing with your feelings. This book almost felt too real and made me cry multiple times. Read at your own risk.

This book was incredibly hard to rate. On one hand I feel like colleen hoover it’s just amazing author, this is my fourth book by her and she really does not disappoint. She has a lot of insight about romantic relationships and there’s so many quotes that I’ll put on the bottom of this review that really resonated with me, even while being totally single. But, on the other hand I don’t think this is the best book ever that I’ve read by Miss Hoover. Definitely a lot of pros and not that many cons, however I didn’t cry like I was told I would so I had to knock it down to four star, but if I really had to be realistic and be a 4.5.

I thought the challenge with infertility was very well done in this book, when I first started I was really honestly afraid that by the end of the book they would’ve adopted or had a miracle baby, but I really appreciated how Colleen did not add that into the story at all and instead demonstrated how a marriage can be just as positive and healthy without children as it can with. I also loved the flash back-and-forth – can I just say that the first scene in this entire book was one of the best first scenes that ever read, literally them walking in on their partners sleeping together is hilarious – but yeah there’s just so much to like.

Graham too was one of my favorite guys i’ve ever read about, he was always very calm and collected which is very appreciated. even when I thought his anger was probably very well deserved and even with a couple mistakes that he made, I just felt like he dealt with most situation is very maturely. and was always there for Quinn even when she didn’t realize it. I feel like if it was a real life person he’d definitely be my type lmao.

giving a 4 stars to all your perfects; def recommend but watch out for the triggers

_____________

✨best quotes

“No matter how much you love someone – the capacity of that love is meaningless if it outweighs your capacity to forgive.”

“Apologies are good for admitting regret, but they do very little in removing the truth from the actions that caused the regret.”

“What’s the secret to a perfect marriage?’ The old man leaned forward and looked at me very seriously. ‘Our marriage hasn’t been perfect. No marriage is perfect. There were times when she gave up on us. There were even more times when I gave up on us. The secret to our longevity is that we never gave up at the same time.”
