Fun little spooky story. I could see myself enjoying this if I had read it as a child. Bit of a predictable storyline and naive characters for an adult though

A spooky mystery with engaging characters and a fun plot. I read this because I was intrigued by the upcoming movie.

I read this book to my children in the days leading up to Halloween. It's the perfect mix of supernatural creepiness, humour (the banter between Mrs. Zimmerman and Uncle Jonathan is wonderful) and childhood struggles (we all can relate to Lewis). Illustrations by Edward Gorey are the icing on the cake.

Saw the movie and then borrowed the book through Inter Library Loan.
