Fine tegninger, men historia er litt wild. Et barn (omgjort av en fyr) er sammen med en annen vampyr i 60 år, men som barn? Litt for wild for meg

I'm not sure if i will ever read the original, but this was an interesting and easy way to be introduced to the story, it was beautifully illustrated.
dark sad medium-paced

Events from the first book just visualized and the main focus being Claudia’s parts

I only abandoned this book because I dont have the funds to buy the whole thing so I only got to read the free sample.

Artwork: 5 out of 5
Ashley Marie Witter’s artwork is beautiful. Every page captured the depth and richness of Anne Rice’s world. With splashes of color here and there, adding a sense of power and emotion through art, this book is truly visually captivating. I loved every lavish page, every panel. The artwork is wonderful.

Story: 4 out of 5
This graphic novel is the retelling of a dark and tragic story every Anne Rice fan knows and knows well. The story of a woman eternally trapped in the body of a child. Her lost innocence, her corruption and her restlessness. Parts of Rice’s original novel can be found in this adaptation word for word. Lines directly from the original placed in a sea of gorgeous imagery. Ashley Marie Witter taking on Claudia’s point of view was quite a task, but she did decently enough. As an avid Anne Rice fan, I can’t help but think that only the author herself can speak for Claudia. But overall, I feel that Witter captured Claudia well.

In the end, I loved this graphic novel. The artwork was elegant and gorgeous and the story was heartbreaking , yet captivating. This is a book I recommend both Rice fans and those who have never read her novels.

I loved the sepia illustrations however the tale really doesn't provide any more depth to the story other than what you could deduce from the novel

Fue muy chevere leer la perspectiva de Claudia, además que las ilustraciones son muy bonitas.

I am looking for the right word to describe this animation: awe-inspiring? Spectacular? Marvelous? It's awesome, in the sense that it inspires awe. Witter is really, really good. She's also drawn the characters the way I, at least, imagined them. Claudia is a perfect round doll face with just a hint of wide-eyed animé. The animation (awesome) is mostly in stark sepia-ish tone but when there's blood, it's a jarring red.

The words of the story are taken straight from Interview with the Vampire, but the world is seen through Claudia's eyes. Everyone already knows what a fabulous tale this is. It's an excellent graphic companion to Anne Rice's first vampire novel. Claudia was always one of my favorites so this was a must for me.

It also reminds me of the days before vampires were sexy. I'd forgotten how positively ruthless, amoral and murderous these creatures were. That they are at all sympathetic is a credit to Rice's writing. But obviously I'm not the first person to say that. Witter makes this story come even more alive. It's just about perfect.

I liked this interpretation. The artwork was beautiful, and Claudia remains my favorite character from the original book. I think I'd imagined this would have more of an origin story to her; rather, it's the events from IWTV through her eyes from her vampiric birth forward.

Still. Very good read and highly recommended for fans of graphic novels and, of course, those who loved the original.

Enjoyed the graphic artistry, but didn't really add much beyond the Anne Rice lore already known (reason not a 5 star).
