Nothing like a good battle with creepy demons to get one's blood pumping right from the start of the book.
Disclaimer: I'm personally acquainted with Christine, and already a fan of the other books in this series. Even if you haven't read the other books in the series, she does a fine job world-building and explaining the problem (portals from the Chaos Plane allow nasty demons to cross into this one - apparently there are no demon TSA agents), without boring the reader who has read the other books in the series.
Gideon and Marie-Therese make a dynamic duo in more ways than one. They are a great team, and the attraction between them starts and build despite Marie-Therese's reluctance to give in to it. Plenty of steam, and also tender moments. Very enjoyable and satisfying read
