| 9\10 | amazing plot. so lizzie and aiden. and hal. I would have never guessed it. and aidens stepdad!? I like this book. it has suspence and a hell lotta thrill. overall, a must-read. (and its located near london, so yes!!!)
When I started to read this book I had no idea that it will keep me reading through the night.
I wasn't really into the thriller or contemporary books before, and this one was my first book of thriller genre.... and I was hooked from the first page!!
I always enjoy books with different POVs and with something added to it, so when I found out that this book has POVs, transcripts from police and Twitter messages... I just knew I have to buy it. I am glad that I waited for the second book to come out before I read this one because I can read the second book without waiting :) Thought I need a pause for some time.
The story itself was really really good, and characters were easy to like, but the ENDING?? I sat still for 10 minutes and didn't know what happened. If I didn't know there was a second book I would have wanted to kill somebody.

Overall, just okay.
I enjoyed the multimedia aspects throughout the book of interviews and messages, but I wasn't really engaged in the actual mystery. It was an easy read, but I felt like the book took too long to reveal what the actual mystery was. We know something happened, but we have no clue who, what, or why! By the time we did get any information, the book was nearly over, so everything happened back to back, and at that point, I had already lost interest. The first 85% dragged, then everything was shoved into the last 15%, is how I felt.
Maybe if I had read it when I was younger, or before I got into the mystery/thriller genre it would've been more engaging for me.

To be totally honest - I have no recollection of buying this book. All I know is that I've been in a major thriller mood for about a month now and the little tagline on the cover made this book sound good. I got about 60 pages in and thought "okay...why does this feel like a 16-year-old wrote this on Wattpad?" BECAUSE it WAS written on Wattpad. And a thriller...? No. More like some weird love story between two Twitter accounts...with some trauma thrown in and then a random kidnapper jumping in by the end.
The ONLY thing I genuinely liked about this book was that parts of the story unfolded through integration documents. I thought that was creative and neat but it wasn't enough to get me actually to enjoy the book.
Needless to say - I will not be reading the sequel.

Quite The Novel Idea ~ Words from the Clouds
Well I'm not entirely sure how to feel about this book, to be honest. I liked parts of it a lot... But then there are other parts that I really didn't like that really kept me from enjoying this book more than I wanted to. With that also comes that I completely did not relate to the characters at all. Which is tragic, let's be honest.
To start off, I'd like to mention that I was not aware this was going to be a series when I started reading this book. So when I finished, that cliffhanger caught me completely off guard. It's also very unfair because what the hell? How can you end a book like that? WHAT IS EVEN GOING ON? But then... that was probably the point. If so, good job to the author. Your mission is accomplished. Now give me the sequel. Please and thank you.
So obviously the book succeeded in getting me hooked. Keeping me guessing. I LOVED the mystery aspect to the story and how it played out. And I loved the epistolary parts of the book. The police transcripts and tweets and DM's. I use Twitter daily so that was also VERY relatable to me. But with this also comes that someone that doesn't use twitter and reads this book, MIGHT be a tad lost? But I loved how the story was told and how the mystery aspect played out. I read this book in one sitting just because I needed to know what was going on. But then that last chapter happened and WHAT EVEN DUDE. WHY?
Ahem. So yes, that part I enjoyed tremendously. But... sadly I didn't really like the pacing a whole lot? Like... the interview transcripts were cool and I liked them... but they were often used to fast forward through time and move the story and the relationship between the MC's along. Which sucked because I didn't connect to the romance at all because of it. Though it didn't help that I generally didn't really connect to the MC's at all.
I get fandoms and being a fangirl, but I've never understood how some people can go so far in that. I'm not THAT much of a fangirl for anyone. So that didn't help me connect either. I did feel bad for Tessa and wanted to know what happened that she can't leave her room anymore. But in the end I felt like that part of her story was a bit... Well, near the end it felt like it got fixed sort of to get everything set up for that cliffhanger? Could be just me though. I also didn't really connect to Eric. I don't know why, but Tessa and Eric just didn't feel developed enough. Also, Tessa's mom is a classic absent parent. I don't even know what happened with her dad or where he is. He's never mentioned. But her mom makes an appearance once or twice and she wasn't very understanding so. Eric's parents are never even mentioned.
WHY can't I have more parents in YA? Seriously.
Overall I loved some parts of this book, but mostly I was a bit disappointed. I also went into this book assuming it would be a standalone so the cliffhanger threw me. But obviously I need the sequel now. I mean... I need to know what happens, okay?

*I recieved an e-galley of this book from Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS fire, so special thanks to them*
While the book certainly kept me entertained, it was not without its flaws. I felt like Tessa's perspective had a juvenile voice, but that wasn't so bad. My real issue was that in trying to create twists and surprises, the author made things really jumbled and confusing. I kept getting really confused when I think the author wanted my to be shocked. Especially with the ending, I'm just glad that there is going to be a sequel to clear things up because I have no idea what I just read.
On the other hand, the book was very interesting and had a solid story. The characters were interesting and round. I really am excited to see what will happen next.
