Ik heb een dubbel gevoel bij dit boek.
Ik denk dat er veel aan mij voorbij is gegaan gezien ik de geschiedenis tussen Oost en West Duitsland niet (voldoende) ken.
Voornamelijk was het moeilijker on door te lezen maar sommige momenten vond ik het dan weer heel vlot lezen, en zat ik er helemaal in.

Didn't even finish it, gave up at page 197.
I wasn't particularly enjoying it up to that point, i found the way it was written to be really hard to follow (conversations being a paragraph rather than using quotations, weird specific references to music to describe something else to the point I'm unsure what was originally being spoken about) it could be lost in translation, but it was really hard to follow. That said I enjoy a forbidden love story so I was invested and parts were well written.
And THEN box 2 comes along and it's literally romanticising what is essentially domestic abuse?
I think I can sort of see what it was trying to do but it really wasn't.
Really weird, do not recommend:) whoever gave it the booker prize needs looking into.
