I couldn't get enough of the chaos of this book - mystery-ish, crime-ish, romance-ish - when you suspend your disbelief this was wildly entertaining. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Was looking for something comforting like Legends & Lattes or The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches and didn’t find it in this. Went full on romance book right at the 70% mark and I wasn’t invested enough in the storyline to keep reading.

The initial chaos of Finley's life in the beginning was maybe a little too relatable. It had me stressed out to read it hindering my escapism. Eventually it moved into the more unrealistic and was easier to get into. Maybe due to the initial stress I wouldn't say I ever laughed out loud but the banter was enjoyable, the characters not intolerable (except Theresa). With a tiny bit woe-is-me finances and ex-husband resentment I will be happy to continue the series.

I'm late to the Finlay Donovan train, but I need more. I absolutely devoured and loved this one.

This book was wildly entertaining! I’ve had this series on my tbr for the last year or so after seeing it on bookstagram. I am soooo glad I finally decided to dive in. It is addictive! And it’s pure perfection on audio. I really kinda forgot that there was only a single narrator. Angela Dawe is so good at giving every character their own voice from Finlay to Vero to all the bad guys with accents, she really nailed it! I saw someone say that this book was like the Dead to Me tv show on Netflix and they’re absolutely right. The situations Finlay and Vero get themselves into are utterly absurd. This is no true crime book lol this is pure escapism thriller / comedy and I loved every second. I loved Finlay and Vero’s friendship. Vero turned into an actual ride or die. Plus I found her to be hilarious. I loved that Finlay, lost as she was, was so true and authentic to herself. I loved the romantic subplot! I hope it turns into more! And that ending?! This book was so much fun and I can’t wait to continue the series.
