A decent novella, intriguing dystopian wild-west genre mash-up with rogue lgbt+ librarians. I really enjoyed the read. There were some elements that I wasn’t a fan of, but they always seem to crop up in shorter novels (ex: insta-love trope). And like most novellas I enjoy, I wish it was a full length novel so you get more of the backstory and more depth of world building. Character work is good for the length of the novel, and the pacing is actually rather steady too. If you’re looking for quick read, this is a good option.

Really enjoyed this story and truly wish it was longer! I’d love more explanation into how civilization came to the way it is in this novel. I’d love more background about the women. I’d read a whole series about these librarians.
